To turn a philosophy of quality into reality requires careful thought and determined planning. The paths to quality are multitude but the winemaker wishing to produce great wines always works with a balance of intuition and science.
Minutiae coalesced into a sum is the essence of a finished wine which is why it's important not to travel this road alone. Nik Weis walks his path with his cellarmaster Rudolf Hoffmann and vineyard manager Hermann Jostock, both of whom are intimately acquainted since childhood with Mosel viticulture.
Nik also calls upon the wealth of experience from his father Hermann.

Each has their own area of expertise but together they pursue a holistic philosophy whereupon no idea is left unexplored. Obsessed by details, every step taken is done deliberately, knowing that any action will be interdependent upon all others.
The world's other great wines are tasted to find nuances which excite and inspire them. Every year the team travels the world to meet other inspired winemakers in order to exchange ideas and learn from one another.
